"Nobody's called me back... I think it's this recession!" This outrageously humorous video teaches young people important lessons about how to (and how not to) interview for a job. The story is told from the p.o.v. of the Human Resources Manager of the fictitious "J.R. THOMPSON COMPANY" as it attemps to do some hiring.
From screening job applications, to personal appearance, the HR manager's nightmare turns into a comedy of errors that conveys a range of valuable lessons to your students who will someday be applying for work.
Lessons include: Confirm the name, time and place for an appointment, find out as much as possible about the company, don't have sticky hands, make sure you're neat and clean, don't wear offensive clothing or saggy pants, avoid excessively tight, suggestive clothing and heavy makeup, don't smoke or chew gum during an interview, and never bring a cell phone, pager, friend, or relative into an interview.
